Cleaning and Examining your Dogs’ Teeth

Brushing your dogs’ teeth is more than just good dental hygiene, and for the sake of the appearance of your dog’s teeth.  It is also believed that good oral dog care can extend your dogs life by a few years, by preventing such dog diseases as the oral diseases like plaque, tartar and periodontal disease.  Tartar build-up can lead to infections in the gums that can cause bleeding and help spread the bacteria caused by the tartar to the bloodstream, leading to other dog diseases.  When it comes to puppies health, the teeth of puppies may not require that much attention while they are young, but many dental problems in dogs become more serious as a dog get older.
